One of many places that is a must visit when you come to Cairns. A beautiful unspoiled, uncrowded beaches and only 45 minutes scenic cruise from Cairns along the coastline aboard a air conditioned catamaran. The perfect reef trip for families where the kids can learn to snorkel right off the beach, with coral and fish only metres from the shore.
800 acres of National Park and nature walks to explore – 3.6km’s (1.5hours) to the Lighthouse
Not much of a Lighthouse but it will have to do. Make sure you have plenty of water if you are walking this Track mid-day. There are a few steep places but overall, a good workout to have.
Great views of the Great Barrier Reef from the top of the Lighthouse, wordless – speechless views. It truly a pinch me moment, to remind you where you exactly are located.
All sorts of creatures hidden on this path so watch your step.

Having too much fun and not ready to leave the island yet, well good news you do not have to because there is a Resort or a Camping Ground if you feel like sleeping underneath the stars. All in all I Highly recommend visiting Fitzroy Island.
